My name is ATVCamper and I have been an avid camper for over forty years and the remote deep backcountry areas are where I enjoy camping most. This is primitive tent camping, no RVs here. When I was a teenager, my friends and I would hike for miles with our backpacks to get to some great camping spots. As I got older I would carry a backpack on my dirtbike to get even further into the wilderness, but the fear of running out of gas was a problem and you can only carry so much on a dirtbike. Then I was introduced to camping ATV style.

Now, with my utility four-wheel drive all terrain vehicle (4×4 ATV), the right ATV accessories and proper selection of my camping gear and supplies, I am able to get to anywhere I want with confidence. Confidence that I have enough gas, food, water, camping gear and supplies for several exciting days of fishing, hunting, hiking, riding, relaxing, and enjoying nature with friends and family to its fullest.

ATV Load Capacities
ATVs can get loaded down so much that they become tip hazards and they increase the chance of a breakdown or accident due to exceeding the ATVs rated load capacity. No better way to ruin a good outing than someone getting hurt or a breakdown. Sometimes the problem was the wrong selection of gear and improper loading of the ATV. By selecting lightweight, compact camping gear and properly accessorizing your ATV with ATV bags, you can get your ATV loaded safely and effectively for your camping adventure.
All utility ATVs have maximum load capacities and it is the responsibility of the rider to keep his/her load within those capacities otherwise you risk damage to the ATV and/or injury to yourself. Also, loading an ATV with camping gear and supplies raises the center of gravity and the rider needs to be extra cautious because the ATV will handle differently with the extra weight. Keeping the load as low as possible will help significantly. Also, be aware that the weight an ATV winch adds to the overall load.
