ATV Trailers are available in different sizes, shapes, and weights. But when it comes to ATV camping there are very few that stand up to the task. I have seen everything from the garden trailer to the heavy duty trailers with pop-up tents out on the trail and each one seemed either too flimsy or too heavy and cumbersome. I have yet to see an ATV trailer I would want to tow behind my machine and besides I do not have enough room on my full size haul trailer for my ATVs and a trailer.

For ATV camping, a good trailer could be invaluable because if it is designed right, all of your camping gear and supplies could be loaded on the trailer and this frees up the ATV for a passenger or just the ability to disconnect the trailer and go. The ideal ATV trailer needs to be convenient, versatile, stable on the trails, offer good ground clearance, structurally strong, and lightweight.

If this Ideal Trailer exists I am still stuck with the problem of hauling it, currently I don’t have room for an ATV trailer so unless I want to invest in a larger haul trailer, an ATV trailer is just not feasible investment for me.

That Was Until Now

Trailer ImageI came across a trailer design that not only meets the criteria for the Ideal ATV Trailer it also solves the problem of hauling it.  The ATV BACKPACKER is by far the most versatile, stable, strong, and lightweight trailer available offering over 13″ of ground clearance and an 800 pound capacity but the trailer itself only weighs an incredible 80 pounds.

Originally designed for the hunter for hauling their kill out of the remote hunting areas. This trailer allows the hunter to spend less time packing and more time enjoying their hunt. During the early season when the weather is warmer, the ATV BACKPACKER cart shortens your transport time in the field allowing the hunter to begin processing their animal sooner.

The unique simple design of the ATV BACKPACKER enables one person to load and transport heavy cargo easily. By simply disengaging each wheel and folding them back, lowers the bed of the trailer to ground level, then roll the cargo onto the bed and use the unique lever arms on each wheel to easily lift the trailer back up to the transport position and lock the wheels back in position.

Trailer ImageThe versatility of the ATV BACKPACKER allows you to carry up to 800 pounds of camping gear and supplies for your next ATV camping adventure. That means one full size ATV could haul enough camping gear and supplies for eight people freeing up seven ATVs for more fun. The length (78 inches total) makes for a very stable ride and total width at just over 49 inches make it no wider that a full size ATV so it fits those tight trails you might encounter on you way to your campsite. With over 13″ of ground clearance, those trail obstacles are not much of a concern. There is so many uses for this unique trailer, from hauling bales of hay on the ranch to hauling logs at the mountain cabin.

So how do you haul this Ideal ATV Trailer you may ask. Well this is one of the great innovative features of this trailer. The 80 pound ATV BACKPACKER easily folds up to fit behind most any ATV or UTV allowing you to maximize your hauling capability. This feature allows your ATV and cart to fit easily in the bed of your pickup without giving up valuable cargo space. Long box pickup owners are still able to close their tailgate!

Trailer ImageSo there you go – The Ideal ATV Trailer! The ATV BACKPACKER offers everything you want in an ATV trailer; convenience, versatility, stability, clearance, strength, and lightweight. Plus the ability to be transported on your existing haul vehicle.
